Error when deleting the interfacing servers in AAA

Overview

While decommissioning a few Interfacing Servers connected to AAA Server customers may experience an error as shown below:

This can also lead to the following alarms in the AAA Server when the interfacing servers are not properly decommissioned: HIGHAAARESPONSETIME, RADIUS_ESI_HIGH_RESPONSE_TIME, THREADNOTAVAILABLE

This article provides a solution that can be used as a reference for performing a similar task in the future.

Solution

To decommission the Servers connected to AAA, one must delete the Broadcasting handler containing the relevant servers from the Accounting Service Flow of the Radius Service policy. Once it is deleted from all such Radius Service Policy, only then it will allow deleting the relevant server from the Extended Radius section.

  • Step - 1 - From Left Panel, Go to Service Policy > Radius > Radius Service Policy.
  • Step - 2 - From the Radius Service Policy List on dashboard, click on each applicable radius policy
    • Now, From the Right Panel, Click on Update Acct Service Flow.
    • Remove the relevant servers and update the configuration
  • Step - 3 - From the Left Panel, go to Servers / Configurations > Server Instance.
    • From the Right Panel, click on Synchronize Configuration.
    • Note: Make sure NOT TO CLICK on “Synchronize From” Button
  • Step - 4 - Restart the AAA server instance
