Overview
If you want to know the procedure to forward SNMP Traps/Alarms to one or more external systems. The EliteAAA or AAA Server can forward SNMP traps to one or more SNMP listeners. The procedure described in this article can be used to configure SNMP Trap Listeners.
Solution
Step by step what needs to be done
1. Login into EliteAAA GUI.
2. On the left Panel, go to Servers/Configurations --> Alert Configuration --> Create Alert Listener
3. Select Trap listener from the dropdown menu.
4. Enter Listener Name--> click on next--> Enter the external IP value in the Trap server with port,
select Trap Version as V2, community as public, Advance Trap True
5. Selection of Alert list as shown below.
6. Click on (+) symbol to see which alert is needed. Tick mark on that alert.
7. Click on create.
8. Follow the same procedure from serial numbers 2 to 7 to add second external server.
9. Go to Server/Configuration-->Server Instance-->Click on that server--> on right side click on Synchronize Configuration --> click on Synchronize To and Go to next step
10. Now we need to configure SNMP address on the external server. SNMP address will be found on mentioned path: On left side Panel, Servers/Configurations-->Click on instance-->Update Configuration on the right side-->Edit on EliteAAAServer.
11. Open any one server with eliteaaa user and go to CLI path--/opt/eliteaaa/AAA/bin and run the command as “sh cli.sh” U will now in CLI and run command as “shutdown”
12. All services such as Accounting, Authentication & SNMP service must be stopped.
13. Type exit,
14. fire command “jps”
15. The application must not run on that server.
16. Now start the application server.
17. go to path--/opt/eliteaaa/AAA/bin and run the command “sh eliteaaa.sh”
18. Follow the same procedure from serial numbers 9 to 17 for the remaining AAA server instances.
